July 2009
· Sales during the School’s Games Carnival.
August 2009
· Community Service for the school: Repainting of school tables.
October 2009
· Leadership workshop organized by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu
· Interact Club’s 1st Joint Installation Night
Overall, it was a good experience as we were able to work with Interactors from other schools. Our Interact club’s efforts in finding sponsors for the magazines were very fruitful as in the end, we managed to garner a total of RM 5750
November 2009
· Clean-Up of Kota Kinabalu Wetland Centre with the US Navy.
· Visit to the USS Mustin navy ship.
· Meet up with Singaporean Students from Whitley Secondary School.
December 2009
· Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) 2009 for the District 3310 held at Kota Tinggi, Johor
Our school sent two representatives to Johor. All in all, they gained a lot of knowledge on conflict resolution, team work and got to meet people from across Malaysia and Singapore.
January 2010
· Setting up of our Interact Club’s blog and Facebook account
This was suggested by the Rotarians during our previous meeting as this would make it easier for them to keep tabs on our club’s activities and communicate directly with the Interactors.
· Intake of new Interact Club members (Form 4)
As there were only 25 slots available, the Board of Directors had an interview session for the Form Four students. A total of 40 students showed up for the interview.
· Sales during the school’s Sports’ Day
The sales included various items from Spaghetti to Ice Blended Milo to Head bands and overall, it was a success as we managed to sell everything. Our total profit was approximately RM 600.
February 2010
· Visit an orphanage
We are in talks of visiting an orphanage around Sabah and donate the necessities that they require. We might be donating books, building a book rack, organise several games and have lunch with the children.
March 2010
· Photography competition
Our club is planning to organise a photography competition which can be participated by other schools and will be using the theme related to the Rotary Club’s theme i.e. The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands, Make Dreams Real. This competition is to encourage students to explore their understanding towards the theme and improve their photography skills.
· Advanced RYLA in Singapore
This event is the first of its kind in District 3310 and is attended by any student who has attended RYLA before. There is a possibility that our club will be sending some Interactors.
April 2010
· Bakat Convent
This will held at an interschool level in order to select representatives from our school to compete in Bakat Interact.
· Bakat Interact
This is an annual competition held as a platform for students from various schools to showcase their talents. It will tentatively be held on the 11th of April 2010.
May 2010
· International Understanding Day Bazaar
This is one of the biggest event held annually which is participated by various Interact Clubs in efforts to expose students to another country’s culture and traditions as well as foster mutual understanding among the clubs. It will tentatively be held on the 20th of June 2010. As it is a big event, , our club will start our preparations in April.
June 2010
· Rotary Youth Leadership Awards 2010
RYLA this year would be held in Miri, Sarawak. However, our club’s participation has not yet been confirmed as there is a possibility that it might clash with our examination preparations and other competitions.
